About Adele
Adele Britton
has more than 30 years of experience as a counselor and love and
relationship expert. After establishing her psychotherapy career
in California, Adele became a regular guest therapist on a radio
talk show that aired on KABC (Los Angeles) and KFMB (San Diego).
For 12 years, she counseled listeners on relationship issues. She
also practiced marriage, family, and child counseling and psychotherapy
as well as hypnotherapy in Santa Monica, Westwood, and Palos Verdes,
California, where she was also an instructor of Parent Effectiveness
Training.
In 1980, she was introduced to A Course in Miracles, which
transformed her counseling philosophy. Shifting her focus from diagnosing
and treating mental disorder, the prescribed practice within the
mental health community, Adele instead taught her clients to change
their perceptions about their pressing issues and helped them expand
the quality of their lives. This extensive way of thinking would
also prove to be invaluable to Adele on her own remarkable journey.
Adele moved to Prescott, Arizona, in 1993 and opened the Britton
Center with her husband, Paul, who was also a counselor. They provided
counseling and conflict resolution for various local organizations.
Adele was also a Healing Touch Program™ practitioner.

Six years later, Adele and Paul
moved to Boulder, Colorado, where she established herself
as a love and relationship specialist. She appeared regularly
as a relationship expert on Denver’s ABC television
affiliate (KMGH-TV). Shortly thereafter, Adele was diagnosed
with amyloidosis, a rare blood disease that was serious enough
to put her career on hold. Facing a life-threatening illness,
she also cared for her husband, who has Alzheimer’s
disease. The hokey pokey philosophy
emerged from Adele’s desire to continue living with
joy and purpose and to see life’s ups and downs as important
opportunities for love and forgiveness. Adele
helps people experience a more lighthearted, uplifting
approach to life’s challenges, including patients who
are coping with critical illness and their families.
Adele received her bachelor’s degree from California
State University, Northridge and her master’s degree
in social science from Azusa Pacific College through the California
Family Center in North Hollywood.
In her free time, Adele enjoys getting together with friends
and family, playing with her two grandsons, hiking, and reading.
She lives in Boulder, Colorado. | Contact
